2026-20227 Membership Update from CIPLA Officers

Dear Members:

As we embark on this coming 2026-27 CIPLA year, the Officers have reviewed information shared by our membership, including interests in new benefits and varied meeting locations. We are pleased to provide new membership benefits this coming 2026-27 CIPLA year, including new membership dues options. Regarding the latter, we are pleased to offer firm membership discounted pricing to streamline firm payments for most of our 2026-27 events.

New Membership Benefits:

  • Hybrid self-reporting Connecticut CLE meetings
  • Access to a self-reporting Connecticut CLE database with recordings of meetings
  • Increased self-reporting CT CLE opportunities, including ethics
  • Routine virtual lunch programs for self-reporting Connecticut CLE’s
  • Varied meeting location (e.g., event(s) in Hartford area and Fairfield county)

New Membership Dues Structures

A la carte structure:

  • Annual membership, including CLE database access: $150 per person
  • Annual membership with virtual attendance pass: $250 per person
  • General estimated attendance cost for regular meetings/events (paid at registration): $75 per person

Individual membership structure: $500 per person

  • Includes a la carte benefits – CLE database, virtual attendance pass
  • Includes in-person attendance for five self-reporting CLE events, a fall social event (e.g., IP Trivia) and a spring social event

Firm membership structure:

  • Includes a la carte benefits – CLE database, virtual attendance pass
  • Includes in-person attendance for five self-reporting CLE events, a fall social event (e.g., IP Trivia) and a spring social event
  • Permits flexible attendance from anyone of a firm or firm designee as opposed to a single person membership

Membership Tiers:

  • Any two firm members: $900
  • Any three firm members: $1300
  • Any four firm members: $1700
  • Any five firm members: $2000 
  • *The above structures do not include tickets for the IP Practitioners Recognition Dinner and the CIPLA Annual Meeting and Lobster Bake. Tickets will be sold separately for those events.

INTA Roundtable on “Non-Traditional Marks and the Traditional Practice”: February 17, 2017 at UConn School of Law

The UConn School of Law Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship Law Clinic will host a roundtable on Friday, February 17, 2017, sponsored by INTA (International Trademark Association) on “Non-Traditional Marks and the Traditional Practice.”

The roundtable will be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on the law school campus at:

These local experts will guide us through some of the more interesting aspects of trademark law, including sound marks, color marks and 3-D marks.

PLEASE NOTE THAT 1 HOUR OF CONNECTICUT CLE CREDIT WILL BE OFFERED FOR ATTENDANCE AT THIS PROGRAM. A buffet lunch is included.
